Happy September! 🤎

Hi NPK Fam,

HAPPY SEPTEMBER!

I don’t know about you, but September always feels like a mini New Year to me.

Summer is amazing, but it can also mean more travel, more eating out, more alcohol, later nights, less consistency with workouts, and routines basically going out the window.

So if you’re heading into fall feeling a little more tired, bloated, inflamed, anxious, or just OFF, this is your reminder:

You do not need to completely overhaul your life.

Go back to your foundations.

1. Protein at every meal.

Before we start blaming your metabolism or hormones, I want to know if you’re actually eating enough protein.

Protein helps support muscle, recovery, blood sugar regulation, metabolism, and keeping you full between meals.

Start with breakfast. Aim for a real source of protein BEFORE surviving on coffee until noon. And if getting enough protein from food feels impossible some days, this is where protein powder can make life SO much easier.

I love having a good protein powder on hand for smoothies, mixing into yogurt or oatmeal, or those mornings when you need something quick and realistic. I’m also SUPER picky about ingredients, and this one checks all my boxes with a clean, simple ingredient profile without a bunch of unnecessary additives.

2. Take a walk after your meals.

Even a 10-minute walk after eating can support blood sugar stability, digestion, and metabolic health.

Want to learn more about how your body responds to different foods? Consider using a Stelo continuous glucose monitor (CGM) for real-time insight into your glucose patterns.

3. Start lifting weights.

Muscle is SO important for long-term metabolic health.

You do not need to spend two hours in the gym. Two to three intentional strength-training sessions per week is an amazing place to start.

4. Stop ignoring your sleep.

If you’re waking up at 2–4 AM, struggling to fall asleep, waking exhausted, or suddenly having night sweats, I want to know WHY.

Hormones may be part of it, especially during perimenopause and menopause, but blood sugar, stress, alcohol, medications, sleep habits, and other health conditions can contribute too.

FALL SUPPLEMENT SPOTLIGHT 🍂

Magnesium glycinate.

If there is one foundational supplement I talk about ALL the time, this is definitely one of them.

Magnesium is involved in hundreds of processes throughout the body and supports normal muscle and nerve function. Magnesium glycinate is one of my favorites, especially in the evening, because it tends to be well tolerated and can help support relaxation, improve sleep quality, and promote a more restful night’s sleep.

Your September homework:

Pick ONE thing.

Not ten. Maybe it’s eating a protein-rich breakfast. Maybe it’s walking for 10 minutes every morning. Maybe it’s getting back to strength training twice a week.

Or maybe it’s finally figuring out WHY you haven’t felt like yourself.

If you feel like you’re doing “all the right things” but you’re still exhausted, bloated, struggling with your weight, dealing with hormone symptoms, or just know something feels OFF, that’s where we can dig deeper.

At NPK Health, we look at the whole picture: your symptoms, nutrition, lifestyle, metabolic health, gut health, hormones, labs, and what your body is actually telling us.

Let’s make this fall the season you actually start feeling GOOD again.

With love and healing,
